“Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.” (Deuteronomy 7:9)
All zeal for the Master of the Universe without love is utterly worthless; activity in the King’s business will not make up for the neglect of the King.
Love prizes its object so highly that it cannot rest without possession, and at the same time so highly that it cannot withhold any service or blessing, any gift or sacrifice.
A passion, an affection, a longing, and a mighty sacrifice, all in one.
Only love understands it is more blessed to give than to receive.
In our daily affairs, we so easily give priority to those things which are important to us. Oh! That we should give pre-eminence to the things that are important to Our Heavenly Father.
“LORD, I call You Father, and so You are. Teach me to know You and love You as my Heavenly Father in all of my daily activities.”
