“Next the angel showed me the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the Throne of God and of the Lamb. Between the main street and the river was the Tree of Life producing twelve kinds of fruit, a different kind every month; and the leaves of the tree were for healing the nations – no longer will there be any curses. The Throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will worship Him; they will see His Face, and His Name will be on their foreheads. Night will no longer exist, so they will need neither the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the LORD, God, will shine upon them. And they will reign as kings forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:1-5)
We are forgiven sinners, not born saints, and our only reason for being here is to achieve sainthood.
We were reduced to the consciousness of common humanity by the misery of sin, as a leper suffers from the physical ailments to his body. Under such conditions, we forget the things that set us apart; that is, that we are created in the Image of Almighty God. It seems as though there are occasions when trouble and misery are beneficent. These occasions reduce us to the consciousness of our common humanity, making us forget our purpose. Our purpose is to be more like Him. To rise out of the cursed sin that holds us captive, and to take on the Image of our Heavenly Father. Only then will we achieve perfection. “No longer will there be any curses” – Perfect Restoration “The Throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city” – Perfect Administration “His servants will worship Him” – Perfect Subordination “They will see His Face” – Perfect Transformation “And His Name will be on their foreheads” – Perfect Identification “Night will no longer exist, so they will need neither the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the LORD, God, will shine upon them”– Perfect Illumination “And they will reign as kings forever and ever” – Perfect Exultation
